Biopsy, LITT, & SEEG

Phasor's longer-length drills allow targeting for various cranial and spine applications.  For precise procedures, the hole traversing the skull's thickness can essentially "lock in" the trajectory.  Instead of heavy high-speed orthopedic drills being borrowed for neurosurgery, Phasor drills afford the power combined with lightweight tactile feel of the bony layers with reduced yet effective speed, per those performing several of the types of cases noted below as examples.

BIOPSY (FRAME- OR FRAMELESS)

Compatible with frame-based (e.g. CRW or Leksell) or frameless (e.g. Brainlab Varioguide, Medtronic Vertek, ROSA, or other robot-guided/frameless system, Phasor has successfully been utilized with these and StarFix to reach deep and superficial targets successfully.

LITT (MONTERIS OR VISUALASE)

The advent of LITT has been a driving initial force for Phasor's long drill development since the early 2010s, despite its limited initial market -- Phasor has now grown to support LITT cases, both for the original Visualase 3.20-mm size, to the Monteris 4.50-mm, 3.20-mm, and 6.00-mm sizes for which it makes compatible drill sizes.

SEEG

SEEG cases utilizing 2.10-mm, 2.40-mm, or 3.20-mm sizes are capable of being performed utilizing compatible Phasor sizes.  Again, the lightweight tactile feel, coupled with ability to make holes aided by the adjustable stopper, have led to successful and precise placements of many depth electrodes without complications.
